List of TIN Requirements for ID Card Requests
TIN REQUIREMENTS – Here are the documents needed in applying for a Taxpayer Identification Number ID card.
Most transactions including loan applications, opening of bank accounts, and registration for government agency memberships have several documentary requirements. These includes personal identification documents as proof of identity. One of those common requirements is the TIN or the Taxpayer Identification Number.
The TIN or the Taxpayer Identification Number is a certification that the person abides by the tax regulations in the country. It is issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, more popularly called BIR, the tax-collecting bureau in the Philippines. Employed and self-employed individuals as well as those who are operating a business must secure a TIN.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue previously release the TIN ID card in a yellow-orange cardboard but the current ID cards are now a green cardboard. Both comes with no expiration dates thus all are valid for a lifetime. The ID card includes the following details of the person and the ID itself:
- complete name
- date of birth
- address
- photo
- signature
- ID card release date
- BIR logo
To request for the ID card, there are a few TIN requirements that you must prepare and submit to the Bureau of Internal Revenue for application. Here are the documents needed in getting a Taxpayer Identification Number ID card:
- Duly-accomplished BIR registration Form (either 1902 or 1904)
- one (1) of your valid IDs
- PSA-issued birth certificate
- Community Tax Certificate
- 1×1 picture
- Marriage contract (if applicable)
Bring your TIN requirements to the BIR with you for the application. Upon the releasing of your ID card, it is best to have it laminated as it is in a cardboard making it prone to getting wet, scratches, and teared. Also, if you are employed for the first time, inform your employer about your Taxpayer Identification Number.
