Epy Quizon on being compared to his late dad: “How can you fill in a shoe that’s that big?”
EPY QUIZON – The “Voltes V: Legacy” star recently spoke about being compared to his late father, Dolphy Quizon.
The Kapuso actor appeared on Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he opened up about being the son of the late King of Comedy. Joining him was his fellow actor Gabby Eigenmann.
Epy is one of the 18 children of Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, who was known as the “King of Comedy”.
The actor said in an interview with Boy Abunda that people think it’s easier for him to enter the showbiz industry because he’s a son of Dolphy, but it’s harder because he was compared to his siblings and his father when he got in.

He shared that he has been frequently compared to his father and that’s the hardest thing. According to him, being compared to his father is hard.
“Sa tatay ko talaga [madalas ako ikumpara] at ‘yun ‘yung pinakamahirap. Dolphy agad? Ang hirap no’n. How can you fill in a shoe that’s that big?” Epy said in an interview with Boy Abunda.
Epy was also asked about the similarities he has withDolphy. He shared that he and his dad both know the “lingo of the streets,” which made it easier for them to get along with all sorts of people.
The actor said that although his fans would always say he took after his dad, he still thinks his father was above him in being both a person and an actor.
“My father was the better person, for sure. [In terms of being a] better actor, hands down, siya [talaga],” Epy said. “We know the lingo of the streets. Ibato mo ko sa Tondo, kahit saan, alam ko makisama sa mga tao.”
