LRT Operation Temporarily Stopped After LRT-1 Passenger Fell on Train Railroad
LRT-1 PASSENGER – A passenger of the Light Rail Transit accidentally fell on the railroad of the train at Doroteo Jose Station.
One of the busiest transportation modes in the Philippines is the Light Rail Transit. More commonly called as LRT-1, it is owned by the Light Rail Transit Authority and operated by the Light Rail Manila Corporation.
The LRT-1’s south terminal is located in Baclaran while its north terminal is in Roosevelt Station. Everyday, thousands of passengers are benefiting from its services.
However, for today, there was a temporary stopping of the LRT-1 operation. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it was after an LRT-1 passenger fell on the railroad of the train.
According to Light Rail Manila Corporation Corporate Communications Head Jacqueline Gorospe, the woman felt dizzy before she fell on the railroad. The incident took place at Doroteo Jose Station.
Based on the report, Jun Rodriguez, the supervisor of the LRT-1 in Doroteo Jose Station, expressed that the operation was stopped temporarily to help the woman. She was rushed to the hospital as the woman obtained wounds in the face from the accident.
The management of the LRT-1 apologized to the passengers who were affected by the temporary stopping of the operation. It reminded the public to tell the guards or the other passengers in case you feel dizzy.
Currently, the operation of LRT-1 is back to normal. The woman who fell in the railroad is currently under observation at the hospital.
