Philippine Consulate Staffer in Honolulu Found Dead
PHILIPPINE CONSULATE STAFFER IN HONOLULU – The husband of a consulate staffer of the Philippines in Honolulu admitted to taking his wife’s life.
A lot of Filipinos are staying abroad. Most of these people are working in other countries to give their families a brighter and more comfortable future. These overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) include nurses, marine engineers, and domestic helpers. In some cases, some Pinoys are living in other countries after marrying a foreign nation.
There are also individuals who are staying abroad as they were assigned by the Philippine government to work there. Some of them are tasked to assist and secure the welfare if the Filipinos in other countries. One of them is Philippine Consulate Staffer in Honolulu, Teresita Anilao.
However, recently, an unfortunate incident involving Teresita Anilao took place. The Philippine Consulate staffer in Honolulu was killed by another person.
However, what is even more shocking is that her estranged husband is the suspect in Anilao’s death. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it was her estranged husband, 81-year-old Rogelio Canilao, who called 911 before midnight to report that a woman was killed.
The authorities went to the place of the Philippine Consulate Staffer at Ala Moana apartment. Based on the report, they found her with fatal injuries. Her estranged husband was taken into custody.
Rogelio Anilao later confessed to the crime that took the life of his estranged wife. The Philippine Consulate in Honolulu assured that it is working with the authorities in investigating the case involving its “long-time local hire”. Currently, the Consulate awaits further information about the case and refuses to make further comment regarding the issue.
