SSS: “We are finalizing the guidelines for these programs, and we shall release them through our website and social media channels once available”
SSS — The Social Security System said that it will open two programs in order to extend financial assistance to its members and pensioners in areas affected by Super Typhoon “Karding”.
SSS President and CEO Michael Regino said in a statement that the two programs are the following:
- Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) for members
- Three-Month Advance Pension for Social Security (SS) and Employees’ Compensation (EC) pensioners.
Under the Calamity Loan Assistance Program, members of the state-run private sector workers’ pension fund may avail of a loan equivalent to the average of their last 12 monthly salary credit or the amount SSS members applied for, whichever is lower.

On the other hand, the proceeds under the Three-Month Advance Pension will be based on the amount of the monthly pension of the pensioner.
Regino said that the state-run pension fund will offer those two programs in the areas to be declared under a state of calamity by the NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council).
“We are finalizing the guidelines for these programs, and we shall release them through our website and social media channels once available,” Regino said.
Regino also urged SSS members to enroll in the My.SSS Portal of the SSS website as applications for the Calamity Loan Assistance Program will be coursed through this channel.
The NDRRMC reported that 176,337 families or 640,963 people were affected by “Karding” in 1,372 barangays in Bicol, Cagayan, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Cordillera, Ilocos, and Mimaropa.
