Senator Imee Marcos: “Dapat mapigilan ng mga awtoridad ang serye ng pagdukot at pagpatay, lalo na ngayong nagbalik-eskwela na ang mga anak nila”
SENATOR IMEE MARCOS — The senator called on authorities to probe recent incidents of abductions and killings in the Philippines, especially those that involve young people and women.
In a statement, the senator called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to immediately investigate and punish any perpetrators of the disappearance of individuals.
“Dapat wala silang sasantuhin,” the senator said. “Dahil sa pangamba ng mga magulang, dapat mapigilan ng mga awtoridad ang serye ng pagdukot at pagpatay, lalo na ngayong nagbalik-eskwela na ang mga anak nila.“
The senator cited the case of an teen girl who was reportedly found lifeless in a grassy area at the bypass road in Bustos, Bulacan earlier this month. The suspect has been arrested and faced multiple charges.

Recently, Brigada News FM – Palawan reported that the remains of Jovelyn Galleno, a working student from Palawan who went missing in the past few days, have already been found in Purok Pulang Lupa Bgy. Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa.
Jovelyn’s mother confirmed that the identification (ID) cards found at the crime scene belongs to the victim.

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has expressed grave concern over the slay of two young girls in Bulacan and Laguna as they launched investigations into the gruesome crimes.
CHR Executive Director Jacqueline Ann de Guia noted that the right of children to an empowering and safe environment. She also stressed that crimes involving young girls should alarm the Philippine government.
According to de Guia, they looked forward to the resolution of those cases consistent with relevant laws protecting the rights of women and young girls.
