Fumiya Sankai: “I honestly thought that the Filipinos had forgotten me because I had been living in Japan for so long.”
FUMIYA SANKAI — The former “Pinoy Big Brother Season 8” housemate recently took to social media to open up about returning to the Philippines.
It’s been more than 2 years since Fumiya Sankai left the Philippines during the start of the coronavirus pandemic and now he has returned to the country this month.
Sharing a photo on Instagram, he shared his thoughts on his realizations coming back to the Philippines and on what he has been up to in Japan.
“Two and a half years ago, I was living in the Philippines. At that time, I had regular TV shows, concerts overseas, movies, photo collections, etc. I was really busy every day,” he wrote. “Then all of a sudden, I had the Corona disaster and returned to Japan.”
According to him, he started a company with the theme of bridging between the gap between Japan and the Philippines after returning to Japan.
He added that he continued to challenge new things — such as starting a company and a café with the theme of bridging the gap between the two countries.
Recently, Fumiya invited his supporters to come to his café in Japan as the grand opening of “KAPE TAYO TOKYO” coffee shop will be on Sunday, August 21.

Last week, the former PBB housemate shared photos from his visit to the Pinoy Big Brother house in Quezon City and his reunion with his fellow housemate Yamyam Gucong.
The two were so close that their supporters would fondly call their tandem “Fumiyam.”
