Vice Ganda Throws Shade at Congressman Bong Suntay

Vice Ganda: “Pinag-iinit mo ‘yung ulo ko”

VICE GANDA – The comedian threw shade at Quezon City Representative Bong Suntay on a recent episode of It’s Showtime, days after the lawmaker made inappropriate comments about actress-host Anne Curtis.

As a close friend of Curtis, Vice mentioned Suntay while speaking to a contestant, expressing his frustration with the congressman and warning the contestant not to appear in Suntay’s thoughts, pointing out that his behavior was unacceptable.

Suntay sparked controversy during a House Committee on Justice hearing when he compared his own feelings toward Curtis to past comments by Vice President Sara Duterte about imagining harm to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. He later admitted that using this kind of example was wrong and that he could have expressed his point differently. Despite this, complaints were filed accusing him of violating laws protecting women and public officials’ professional conduct.

“Pinag-iinit mo ‘yung ulo ko. Napunta sa iyo ‘yung buwisit ko kay Bong Suntay,” Vice said. “Huwag mo na ipakita baka ma-imagine ka pa niya. Kapag ikaw na imagine niya sinasabi ko sa iyo, hindi naman ‘yon magso-sorry sa iyo,” the Unkabogable Star added.

Several celebrities, including Angel Locsin, Nadine Lustre, and Amy Perez, criticized Suntay for his remarks. Curtis’ lawyers, Gorriceta Africa Cauton and Saavedra, also condemned the statements, saying no woman—whether famous or private—should be spoken about in a way that disrespects her. They called the remarks inappropriate and emphasized that public officials should always maintain respect and professionalism.

Meanwhile, lawyer Ferdinand Topacio defended Bong Suntay after the congressman’s remarks about Anne Curtis sparked public outrage. Topacio argued on his radio show that merely imagining attraction or certain situations is not a crime and that Suntay’s statements were minor, suggesting the criticism was politically motivated. He also criticized Anne’s sister, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, for reacting to the remarks, questioning why public figures post revealing photos online if not to attract attention. Topacio cited other celebrities like Ivana Alawi, saying their posts naturally draw viewers.
