Lawyer Says Rowena Guanzon Is the “Temu Version” of Miriam Defensor Santiago
Lawyer Edward Chico jokingly compared lawyer Rowena Guanzon to a “Temu version” of the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago during a fun segment on The Spokes of Bilyonaryo News Channel.
Chico explained that Senator Santiago had been his mentor and had helped him pay for his education when he was struggling. He said that Guanzon reminded him of Santiago in her character and style, so he joked that she is like Santiago but in a lighter “Temu version,” referring to the popular online shopping site known for cheap but lower-quality items.
Chico added that sometimes he expected Guanzon to get upset with him, but his comment was meant to be playful and respectful. He said Guanzon shares some qualities with the late senator, whom he admired, making the remark both funny and complimentary.

I was so poor at that time. Temu version nga lang,” Chico said.
The hosts had different reactions. Co-host Lorelei Fajardo said she didn’t get the joke right away but still found it funny, while lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles laughed, showing she understood the reference. Chico explained that Temu is an online shopping site where items are cheap but the quality isn’t always great.
