Laro Laro Pick Contestant Urges Youth to Vote Wisely

Laro Laro Pick Contestant Reminds Youth of Election Responsibility

RIZZA MARIE DE GUZMAN – A student leader and contestant on the popular segment “Laro Laro Pick” on It’s Showtime, recently took the opportunity to remind fellow youth about the importance of voting responsibly.

During the March 20 episode, Rizza emphasized that elections, such as the upcoming 2028 polls, are not just about personal interests or popularity, but about shaping the future of the younger generation. She encouraged her peers to consider the actual work and accomplishments of candidates rather than being swayed by fame or image.

She highlighted that voters should carefully evaluate each candidate’s track record and contributions, stressing that public servants exist to serve the people, not the other way around. Her call for thoughtful and informed voting reflects her broader commitment to civic responsibility and community engagement, demonstrating the values expected from young leaders.

“Ang masasabi ko lang po sa inyo, guys, is vote wisely po. Kasi po dito po nakalaan ‘yong future ng ating kabataan. Hindi lang po siya dapat pansariling interes lang po,” Rizza said. She added: “Hindi po dapat tayo nagbe-base sa ating popularity. It should be the work. Because they are the ones serving us, we are not serving them.”

Rizza’s message also impressed It’s Showtime host Jackie Gonzaga, who praised the clarity, confidence, and weight of her speech, noting that it reflected why Rizza was chosen for her leadership role. Her ability to communicate with conviction and focus made a strong impression, showing qualities that make an effective student leader.

Currently, Rizza studies at Rizal Technological University’s Mandaluyong Campus, where she serves as Director for Linkages and External Relations in the Association of Human Resource Management Students. Through both her student leadership and her media appearances, Rizza continues to inspire her peers to engage responsibly in societal matters, particularly in exercising their right to vote.
