A video of Alkindar “Khinz” J. Amil, a supervisor at a Caltex gas station in Zamboanga City, clearly explaining the rise in fuel prices amazed netizens, especially after they found out that he is a Cum Laude graduate.
Amil gained attention on social media after a video of him was posted online by RMN Zamboanga. The video quickly spread across the internet, not because of entertainment content like dancing or pranks, but because of a simple conversation at a gas station.
A motorist asked why gasoline prices were increasing again. Instead of giving a short or vague response, Alkindar gave a clear and informative explanation. While wearing his uniform at the station, he explained how global events, international crude oil prices, and changes in foreign exchange rates influence fuel prices in the Philippines. His explanation impressed many viewers because it was easy to understand and showed strong knowledge of the topic.
Many people then became curious about his background. Alkindar has a strong academic record. He studied at Tanjung Elementary School and graduated in 2007 as one of the top students in his class, ranking seventh. He later attended Jolo School of Fisheries and again finished among the top students of his batch in 2012. After high school, he studied at Mindanao State University – Sulu, where he graduated in 2016 with the academic honor of Cum Laude. His academic journey shows that he consistently performed well in school from elementary school through college.
Today, Alkindar works as a supervisor at a Caltex gas station in Zamboanga City.
