Tulfo Alleges Governor Fernando Was Attacked
RAMON TULFO – The veteran journalist and commentator has claimed that Bulacan Governor and actor Daniel Fernando was severely beaten by a high-ranking government official. Tulfo linked the alleged assault to a reported road-rage incident involving Fernando’s group and the presidential son, Vinny Marcos, on the North Luzon Expressway on February 21, 2026.
On February 27, Tulfo shared on his Facebook page a report from PEP.ph published the previous day, showing Fernando distributing scholarships to deserving students in Bulacan. The photos showed the governor’s face looking normal, without visible swelling or bruises. Tulfo’s post included a comment noting how easily makeup can hide injuries, suggesting that showbiz professionals are skilled at covering marks, even comparing it to how child actors are made to look older on camera.
Despite Tulfo’s claims, observers noted that Fernando had a small bump on his forehead, similar to one visible in older photos from May and October 2025, suggesting it was not related to any recent altercation. Later on February 27, Fernando’s office released a video of him meeting with PHILECO Chairman Dr. Rhegis Romero II to discuss plans for a First Waste-to-Energy facility in Central Luzon, again showing no visible signs of bruising or injury.

Tulfo, however, had earlier posted on February 25 that Fernando had been beaten by an unnamed official, describing the incident as punishment for the road-rage incident involving Vinny Marcos. He clarified that neither the President nor the Presidential Security Command was involved, but rather an official concerned about the presidential son. Tulfo’s posts suggested Fernando’s absence from public events was due to facial injuries.

So far, Governor Fernando has not publicly responded to the allegations. His supporters hope he will clarify the situation, emphasizing that as an elected official, the public has the right to know the truth.
