Cynthia Villar Explains Her Side of the Heated Altercation with a Security Guard
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The former senator released a statement explaining her side regarding the recent incident involving security personnel at BF Resort Village in Las Piñas City, which quickly spread online and drew mixed reactions from the public.
According to her clarification, the situation started after a “No U-Turn” sign and bollards were placed in front of her house without prior notice, consultation, or proper coordination. She said the installation was ordered by officers of a homeowners’ group that she claimed was not officially recognized and had no authority to implement such changes, as past rulings from government agencies and the Court of Appeals had already questioned the group’s legitimacy.
She explained that she only asked for an explanation from the person in charge and tried to open a proper discussion about the sudden traffic changes. However, she said the situation became tense when some individuals allegedly entered her property without permission and began recording videos. These clips were later shared online and, according to her, presented an incomplete version of what really happened, making the incident appear more dramatic than it actually was.

Villar also pointed out that the installation of the sign and barriers caused heavier traffic in the area, creating inconvenience for residents and motorists. She expressed concern that the changes affected the flow of vehicles on a road that serves as an important access point in the community. Because of this, she stressed that residents should always be informed and consulted before any traffic adjustments or projects are carried out, especially if they directly affect daily movement, safety, and access.

The statement came after a viral video showed her confronting village security guards while they were enforcing lane adjustments meant to help manage school traffic. The tension between Villar and the subdivision’s homeowners association reportedly dates back to 2022 due to disagreements over community developments.
