Ex-Girlfriend Katherine Luna Reminds Rod Navarro Jr. of Coco Martin’s Help
KATHERINE LUNA – The former girlfriend of Coco Martin spoke out in his defense after Rod Navarro Jr. criticized him.
Luna reminded Rod Jr. that Coco had once extended help when he needed it most, opening doors that others would not. She expressed disappointment that this act of kindness seemed forgotten and stressed the importance of gratitude, especially toward someone who offered support during difficult times.

The controversy began when Rod Navarro Jr., son of the late veteran actor Rod Navarro, shared his experiences on the set of Batang Quiapo. He claimed he was insulted and mistreated by some members of the production team, which affected his confidence and emotional well-being. Despite fulfilling his duties professionally, he said he faced verbal abuse, threats, and public humiliation. He clarified that he had declined certain help from Coco, though he acknowledged the opportunities provided, explaining that his statements were meant to set the record straight and protect his dignity.
In response, talent manager Ogie Diaz defended Coco and the team, noting that Rod Jr. had previously reached out to express gratitude and request an interview, which contradicted his later claims. Diaz highlighted that Coco had given Rod Jr. acting roles, screen time, temporary work, and even offered ₱100,000 for a business venture that was never claimed. He also emphasized that Rod Jr.’s character leaving the show was part of the story, not a personal issue.
Meanwhile, actor McCoy de Leon added that while working on the series was challenging, having no work was harder. He praised Coco for helping many behind the scenes, providing jobs and opportunities, and expressed lasting gratitude for the support he received.
