Bea Alonzo Chooses Forgiveness, Ends Legal Battle with Cristy Fermin
BEA ALONZO – The actress has decided to withdraw the cyber libel case she filed against Cristy Fermin after a public apology was issued on the vlog Showbiz Now Na!.
In the video, Fermin, together with her co-hosts Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez, expressed sincere regret over the situation and acknowledged the negative impact their statements may have caused. They explained that they never intended to harm or disrespect Alonzo and recognized that their words may have fallen short of the fairness and sensitivity expected of them. They also committed to stopping any further comments or producing content that could damage her reputation and expressed appreciation for her openness to move toward peace and understanding.
Following the apology, Alonzo’s legal team from Garcia Elauria Ruanto & Associated confirmed that she chose to settle the matter through mediation after two years of legal proceedings. According to her camp, the decision was not a sign of retreat or surrender, but a strong and thoughtful choice rooted in forgiveness.

After careful reflection, Alonzo chose to let go of the conflict, not to forget what happened, but to free herself from a cycle of tension and negativity that no longer supports her personal growth and well-being. She now wants to close this chapter with grace, dignity, and peace while focusing again on her career, her advocacies, and her efforts to uplift others who may also be facing their own struggles.

The issue began in May 2024 when she filed a cyber libel complaint against Fermin, Ogie Diaz, and their co-hosts after false and harmful information about her was reportedly shared on their online programs by a source who claimed to be close to her. In July 2025, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court issued warrants of arrest against Fermin, Villamor, and Alvarez. A month later, they each posted bail worth P48,000.
