From Disappearance to ‘I Do’: Fiancé Reveals Wedding Plans After Sherra de Juan’s Safe Return
SHERRA DE JUAN – After days of worry and unanswered questions, the fiancé of a missing bride-to-be finally shared an update, revealing that love and healing now take center stage after her safe return.
Mark Arjay Reyes, the fiancé of Sherra De Juan, the bride-to-be who was reported missing earlier this month, confirmed that their wedding plans remain intact following her safe return. However, Reyes emphasized that De Juan’s health and recovery are now the family’s main concern.
In an interview, Reyes recalled the emotional reunion with De Juan after she was found in Sison, Pangasinan, on Monday, December 29. He shared that their first meeting was filled with relief and emotion after days of uncertainty.

“Um, actually po, ’yun nga po, ’yung unang yakap niya sa akin nung itong sa may Pangasinan, nag-sorry siya. Sabi niya, hindi siya na umabot [sa kasal]. So sabi ko, huwag mo isipin yun, huwag mo isipin yung kasala ang priority is ikaw,” Reyes said.
Reyes stressed that from the beginning, he made it clear that her well-being matters more than any scheduled celebration. While they were traveling back to Quezon City, police officers reportedly asked De Juan if the wedding would still proceed.
“Tinanong siya, ‘tuloy pa ba yun kasal?’ Sabi niya, ‘Opo tuloy yung kasal.’ Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Huwag ka ma-pressure kailangan mo muna mag recover, kahit gaano katagal. Tapos pag naka recover ka na tsaka natin pagusapan,’” he added.
According to Reyes, De Juan is still in the process of regaining her strength and is being closely cared for by her family.
“Up until now, Ma’am, nagre-recover pa rin po siya. So, pinagpapahinga po namin,” Reyes said.
He noted that her appetite has begun to improve and that signs of physical recovery are gradually showing.

As the year comes to an end, Reyes shared that the family hopes to focus on healing and cherishing the time they now have together.
“Patapos na rin ’yung taon and as a family po, we want to start anew po… gusto namin na at least kahit papaano, itong magba bagong taon makapag-celebrate muna po kami kumbaga ma cherish namin yung pagkakataon na nakasama namin ulit si Sherra,” said Reyes.
Reyes also expressed gratitude to the media for their assistance during the search, but respectfully requested privacy moving forward.
“Ayaw na po namin na kumbaga ’yung mga interviews namin magamit as parang mga makagawa ng kwento-kwento, speculations,” he said.
The family continues to cooperate with authorities regarding the investigation.
“’Yung information we have, makikipag-coordinate naman po kami to our policemen… Special thank you din po pala sa QCPD sa pag-help with regards sa investigation,” said Reyes.
Reyes emphasized that De Juan is not being pressured to talk about her ordeal.
“We want her po… bigyan ng oras para makapag-heal, maka-recover,” he said.
Looking ahead to the new year, Reyes shared that his greatest wish is for continued healing and peace for De Juan and their family.
