Ria Atayde Addresses Reports of Robi Domingo–John Lloyd Clash at Reception
RIA ATAYDE – The Kapamilya actress finally spoke about rumors of a reported clash between Robi Domingo and John Lloyd Cruz during her wedding to actor Zanjoe Marudo.
The wedding, held on December 22, was a small, private event attended only by close friends and family. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Atayde said she didn’t confirm or deny the reports but assured that nothing disrupted the wedding. She described the night as smooth and beautiful and thanked the guests for respecting their wish to keep the celebration private, avoiding photos or videos.
The rumors came from showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz, who said the tension started when Robi Domingo, hosting the reception, jokingly asked Marudo how it felt to be “Mr. Atayde” after asking Atayde how it felt to be “Mrs. Marudo.” Diaz claimed John Lloyd Cruz later approached Domingo at the bar, raising his voice over the comment, which caught the attention of other guests and reportedly required some people to calm things down.
Atayde clarified that they were not upset by Robi’s comment and that the alleged tension, if it happened, did not affect the wedding at all. She also explained that they wanted a simple and personal celebration where guests could enjoy the moment instead of focusing on their phones. She said the wedding was meant to celebrate their love and the people who have been part of their journey as a couple. Atayde thanked everyone who attended and made the night special.
“If something happened between them, they kept it away from me. It wasn’t something that disrupted the event or anything, it went very smoothly. It was a beautiful night,” she said.
