Melanie Marquez Reveals She Was Kidnapped and Abused by Her Husband

Melanie Marquez Breaks Her Silence on Alleged Kidnapping and Forced Detention

MELANIE MARQUEZ — The former beauty queen and actress made shocking revelations during her interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on January 5, 2026.

She claimed that she was allegedly kidnapped by her husband, suffered years of physical and emotional abuse, and was placed in a mental health facility and later a rehabilitation center without her permission. According to Melanie, these experiences caused her deep pain, especially because she was separated from her children.

Melanie said she went through repeated physical, emotional, mental, and verbal abuse from her husband, Randy “Adam” Lawyer. She explained that she stayed quiet for many years for the sake of her children, but she has now chosen to speak out because she wants freedom and a peaceful life. In July 2022, she suddenly disappeared, leaving friends worried and unsure of where she was. Years later, she revealed that she was allegedly taken against her will on her birthday, July 16, 2022, shortly after filing a legal complaint against her husband for hurting her.

She explained that she was taken by force, given medication that made her unable to move, and brought to a mental health facility in Pasig City without a clear explanation or her consent. Melanie said she was tied down even though she was not acting violently and stayed in the facility for ten days. The most painful part for her was being separated from her two sons with autism, whom she loves deeply and personally cares for. She feared who would take care of them if something happened to her and strongly denied claims that she was a danger to herself or her children.

After ten days, Melanie was moved to a rehabilitation center in Cavite, where she stayed for eight months. She described the experience as feeling like a prison without bars. She questioned why she was placed there without proper checks or discussions. She said that staff later confirmed she had no condition that required her to stay there, and all her drug test results were negative.

Melanie admitted that she tried illegal drugs briefly when she was younger but said it happened long ago and never became a habit. She explained that her depression came from a lack of support from her husband, which forced her to sell her property to support herself and her children. She is now determined to file for divorce and shared that in November 2025, she requested the cancellation of her husband’s visa to stop him from returning to the Philippines.
