Harry Roque Admits Deep Regret Over UniTeam Support

From Ally to Critic Harry Roque Breaks Silence on UniTeam Backing

HARRY ROQUE – Former Presidential Spokesperson and lawyer Harry Roque stirred online discussions after openly admitting that he now regrets his support for the UniTeam.

Harry Roque has publicly expressed deep regret over his past support for the UniTeam, acknowledging what he now sees as a serious mistake in his political judgment. Roque shared his sentiments in a Facebook video statement released on Sunday, January 11, 2026, where he candidly reflected on his role during the previous national elections.

According to Roque, he recognizes the error of his decision and is prepared to take full responsibility for supporting the UniTeam. He emphasized that his realization came after careful reflection on the country’s current situation and leadership issues. In his statement, he did not shy away from admitting fault, saying, “Malaki ang pagsisisi ko sa pagsuporta sa UniTeam pero ayan ang pagkakamaling tinatanggap ko. Ito po ang buong paliwanag.”

Harry Roque also urged the public to move forward and focus on more pressing national concerns rather than dwelling on past political alignments. He stressed the importance of accountability and good governance, calling on Filipinos to be more discerning when it comes to leadership. “Let’s move on!! At tanggalin na natin ang mga walang kakayahang mamuno!” said Roque.

Furthermore, he highlighted the need for citizens to be fully aware of what is truly at stake in the present political climate. Roque underscored that the everyday struggles of ordinary Filipinos should take priority over political rivalries and distractions. “At magising na tayo dahil ang atin pong pinaglalaban ngayon yung ating mga pang araw-araw na buhay,” he said.

While Roque did not provide additional details or name specific individuals in his remarks, his statements quickly drew mixed reactions from the public. Many netizens expressed surprise, while others questioned the timing of his admission, especially amid ongoing debates surrounding national leadership and the country’s direction.

It can be recalled that Roque has repeatedly aimed at President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his administration in recent months. These criticisms were reportedly influenced by his personal experiences as well as his known support for the Duterte family.

At present, Roque is seeking asylum while facing a pending case related to alleged human trafficking linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs). Before this, an arrest order had already been issued against him after he failed to attend a House inquiry into POGO Lucky South 99, where he was identified as the alleged legal counsel.
