DPWH Unveils Priority Infrastructure Projects for 2026
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced its main infrastructure projects for 2026, focusing on repairing damaged roads and bridges, completing unfinished projects, and improving flood control systems ahead of the rainy season. DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the goal is to make roads and bridges safer and more reliable while helping communities prepare for heavy rains and typhoons.
The priority road projects include Maharlika Highway, Andaya Highway, EDSA, C-5 Road, and MacArthur Highway in Apalit, Pampanga. Key bridge projects slated for repair or completion include Buot-Taop Bridge in Cebu City, Oyungan Bridge in Iloilo, Tubod-Nabuna Bridge in Misamis Occidental, San Agustin Bridge in Arayat, Pampanga, Candaba Bridge along the Baliwag-Candaba-Sta. Ana Road in Pampanga, Tigasao–Pacifico Bridge in Siargao, and the hanging bridge in Barangay Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. The Aganan Flyover in Iloilo is also part of the plan.
Flood control projects in Bulacan, Oriental Mindoro, and Davao Occidental are included to reduce the impact of flooding during the rainy season. Secretary Dizon added that the department will prioritize funding for ongoing projects, and any new projects must be properly planned and approved by local development councils.

The public is encouraged to report unfinished or damaged infrastructure projects in their areas through the DPWH’s social media accounts or online transparency portal. By focusing on repairs, completing pending projects, and improving flood control, the DPWH aims to make travel safer, reduce flood risks, and ensure communities are ready for the rainy season.

Meanwhile, the DPWH is a government agency in the Philippines responsible for planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the country’s national roads, bridges, and highways. It also manages flood control systems, drainage projects, and other essential public infrastructure, ensuring that all projects meet safety and quality standards while providing accessibility to communities nationwide.
