Walis Vendor Expresses Frustration After His Brooms Fell During His Trip

Walis Vendor Heartbroken After Losing Goods During His Trip to the City

A walis vendor was left heartbroken after the walis ting-ting he was supposed to sell reportedly fell while he was traveling.

Recently, the Facebook page 103.1 Brigada News FM Palawan shared photos of the vendor struggling with his situation after the brooms meant for selling were lost. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions online.

Marlo Duscani had been traveling from Barangay Pinaglabanan in Quezon, Palawan to Puerto Princesa City aboard a truck, carrying bundles of walis ting-ting and walis tambo that he planned to sell.

Along the way, one large bundle containing around 150 pieces of walis ting-ting fell without him noticing. It was only later that he realized what had happened, and by then, the loss was already too heavy to start again.

The brooms were meant to help his family prepare for the Christmas season. Marlo shared that he and his wife patiently saved and crafted each broom, hoping the earnings would allow them to buy new clothes for their two children and prepare simple food to share during the holidays.

Each broom was supposed to be sold for P30, and every peso mattered to their family. The loss weighed heavily on Marlo, knowing that he and his wife had already done everything they could.

With little time left before the holidays, there was no chance to make new brooms to replace what was lost. The vendor only feels worry, sadness, and the question of how they would move forward.

The incident reminds others of the struggles faced by small vendors who rely on daily labor to support their families. Some offered kind words, while others expressed a willingness to help.

Those who may have found the lost brooms were asked to coordinate with Brigada News FM Palawan. For those who wish to extend help, donations may be sent through the Brigada GCash account #09167729540.
