Tom Rodriguez Opens Up About Marriage
TOM RODRIGUEZ – One of the stars of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry UmMarry confirmed that he is married to his non-showbiz partner and that they are now living a private life together in the Philippines.
During a media conference on December 5, he acknowledged his marital status but chose not to disclose the exact date of their wedding, simply saying that he is happy. Tom shared that they now spend much of their time bonding as a couple, managing household chores themselves without the help of house staff, which allows them to grow closer and enjoy each other’s company.
He also opened up about his strong attachment to his family, explaining that he finds it difficult to be separated from his parents for long periods. He recalled how challenging it was to be away from them even briefly and admitted that it gave him a glimpse of how difficult it must be for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are separated from their families for extended periods. Tom emphasized that he and his wife no longer want to be apart, even for a short time.

Despite his public profile, Tom clarified that he does not hide his family from the public; rather, he and his wife prefer to live a private and simple life, much like the life they led while living in the United States. He explained that their choice to maintain privacy does not mean they are hiding or living in seclusion—they go out, interact with their community, and lead normal lives while keeping a clear boundary between personal and professional matters.

Tom also commented on the upcoming marriage of his ex-girlfriend, Kapuso actress Carla Abellana, expressing his well wishes for her. He referred to her recent social media post, in which she shared a photo of her left hand with a ring and cited the biblical verse Jeremiah 29:11, reflecting hope and future blessings.
