Claudine Barretto and Milano Sanchez, the brother of broadcast journalist and news anchor Korina Sanchez, have reportedly ended their relationship just months after it became public.
The breakup came as a surprise to many, especially since it was only recently revealed by veteran entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin on the vlog “Showbiz Now Na,” which she hosts with Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, that the two were romantically involved. At the time, the relationship appeared to be progressing well, making the sudden separation even more shocking.
According to Cristy Fermin, the romance was met with skepticism from the very beginning. She shared on the program, “Nu’ng magsimula po ang kuwento nina Milano Sanchez at Claudine Barretto ay nadaot na agad, ang dami ng kumontra.” Romel Chika echoed this sentiment, saying, “Ang daming nag-nega at nanghula na hindi magtatagal.”
Fermin later confirmed that the couple had indeed gone their separate ways, explaining that the situation became complicated. She revealed that Claudine and her adopted son Noah had moved into Milano’s home, bringing personal belongings with them. Their cohabitation was even previously highlighted on social media, where Claudine posted moments showing food and family time, with Milano seen happily in the background.
However, things reportedly took a turn following an incident involving one of Milano’s long-time household helpers. Fermin narrated that the helper, who had been with the family for years and was reportedly assigned by Korina Sanchez herself, made a mistake. According to the account, Claudine allegedly reacted strongly. “Pinagsisigawan daw ni Claudine talagang galit na galit, sigaw kung sigaw daw ang ginawa (ni Claudine),” Fermin said.
When Milano witnessed the situation, he reportedly sided with the helper, which further escalated tensions. As Fermin recalled, “Kaya ang sabi ni Claudine, ‘ah ganu’n, so, kinakampihan mo ‘yung kasambahay hiwalay na tayo.’” She also mentioned that Claudine allegedly made additional remarks she chose not to repeat on air.
Romel Chika questioned whether the conflict truly stemmed from that single mistake, to which Fermin responded with observations from those present, noting concerns about attitude and adjustment, especially since Claudine was new to the household.
The issue also resurfaced past tensions, including Claudine’s social media post addressed to Milano’s ex, which read, “Hi Patti, you really won’t stop? You were just his side chick.”
Despite the controversy, Romel Chika expressed disappointment over how the relationship ended, saying he had seen Claudine genuinely happy during their time together.
