VP Sara Duterte Gives Message for Filipinos on Rizal Day
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President gave a message for the Filipino people on Rizal Day as she hopes for the restoration of the courage to stand for truth and justice.
Every Rizal Day, Vice Pres. Duterte releases a message for the Filipinos. It is a regular holiday in the Philippines as the people commemorates the death and the legacy of the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

Dr. Jose Rizal died on December 30, 1896 at the age of 35 years old. He spent his life not only in academics as he took several professions but also fighting for the freedom of the country from the hands of the colonists. Unlike most heroes of the country, he had a different way of fighting for the nation’s freedom — by awakening the people through his novels.

Dr. Jose Rizal’s most popular novels are the Noli Me Tangere and the El Filibusterismo. Today, as the Filipinos once again commemorate his life and death, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued a statement for the people. According to her, through his writings, Rizal passed on the spirit of fearless love for the country.

According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the real teaching of Dr. Jose Rizal is clear. The Vice President stressed that the country’s national hero taught us that freedom is not only the liberty from foreign forces but also being free from abuse, evil, and division.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her hope that our strength and courage to stand for the truth and wisdom will be restored. In her Rizal Day message, the Vice President called on the people to not let the spirit of wisdom and unity die.
In her Rizal Day message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the true and lasting change starts and stems from a deep learning, moral integrity, and collective actions in our communities and institutions.
Amid the political turmoil in the government, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s trust rating increased while Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ trust rating dipped.
