Message of VP Sara Duterte for Filipinos on Solemnity of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President gave a message for the Filipino people on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary.
Today, countless Filipinos who belong to the Roman Catholic church celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary, the Mother of Jesus. It is one of those which are in the list of the holidays 2025 in the Philippines. Today, December 8, is a special non-working day in the country.

In celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary, classes in schools in all levels as well as work in the government offices are cancelled. There is a holiday pay for the individuals who will report to duty in the private sector today. Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte took to social media her message for the Filipino people.

Through a video message posted on social media, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the Filipinos to reflect on the spirit of resilience inspired by the life of the Blessed Mother of Jesus, Mary. According to the Vice President, the Blessed Mother’s strength and humility guide the Filipino people to uphold the values that bring unity to the country.
Furthermore, in her message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also expressed her hope that the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mary, Mother of God, will encourage everyone to sow hope, give support to each other, and work for the progress of the country amid the calamities and the political turmoil in the government.

“Sa gitna ng mga sakuna, gulo sa pulitika, at sigalot sa lipunan, nawa’y ang selebrasyong ito ay mag-udyok sa atin na magtanim ng pag-asa, magbigay ng suporta sa isa’t isa, at magtrabaho tungo sa pag-unlad,” the Vice President wrote.
