Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks to Family’s Supporters during Gathering in The Hague
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed that she feels “blessed” because her supporters have stood with her despite the criticisms thrown at her.
Aside from Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) chairperson Teddy Casiño confirming that they might refile an impeachment case against Vice Pres. Duterte, former Senator Antonio Trillanes previously claimed that plunder charges might be filed against the Vice President indeed. The remarks of the former Senator truly happened.
Multiple complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte were recently filed before the Office of the Ombudsman. Plunder, bribery, and malversation charges were among those filed against the Vice President over her alleged misuse of the P625 million confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
In a statement released by Vice Pres. Duterte following the filing of multiple complaints against her, the Vice President called it an alleged “another fishing expedition” to supposedly look for things “to create a semblance of procedural legitimacy for an investigation”. She also recalled that it was allegedly done before when the House members supposedly looked for anything that could be twisted as grounds to impeach her.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands where former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC). She’s the first among the Duterte siblings to visit the former President since the foreign court denied his interim release plea anew.
Recently, at a gathering with the Duterte supporters in The Hague, Vice Pres. Duterte extended the message of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to their supporters. Based on a post of News5 on YouTube, the former Chief Executive stressed that the Dutertes will be there as long as the people want them.
“Nandidito kami as long as gusto pa kami ng tao. Hindi kami mamimilit kung ano ‘yung gusto ng taong-bayan,” he said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also expressed her message to her supporters. Based on the video, the Vice President told the Duterte supporters at the gathering in The Hague that she truly feels blessed as a politician.
“I thank you for your continued support. Alam niyo I am truly blessed as a politician kasi kahit anong paninira ng mga kalaban sa akin, nandyan pa rin ‘yung taumbayan. The supporters from 2015, 2016, from 2019, from 2022, nandyan pa rin kayo. You know how to discern ano ‘yung paninira and ano ‘yung katotohanan. For that I am truly blessed. As I said I thank you,” Vice Pres. Duterte said.
Duterte thanked the supporters of her office in behalf of the OVP. She stressed that she is only the face of the OVP but there are many of them who works in the office. Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s former spokesman Harry Roque spoke on the possible new impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
