Ridon Responds to Pokwang Over Brother’s Road Rage

Ridon Pushes for Justice in Pokwang’s Brother’s Road Rage Case

TERRY RIDON – The Bicol Saro Party-list representative strongly responded to remarks made by actress Pokwang regarding the road rage incident involving her brother, Carlo Subong, in Antipolo City.

Pokwang previously posted a video defending her family and warning politicians about cyberlibel and cyberbullying, suggesting that online comments about her family were unfair. Ridon clarified that her statements diverted attention from the real victims, Crispin Villamor and his daughter, and emphasized that Carlo Subong—not Pokwang—was responsible for the assault.

“We take exception to the remarks made by Ms. Marietta “Pokwang” Subong in her recent video statement relating to the involvement of her brother, Carlo Subong, in a road rage incident in Antipolo City,” Ridon said. “Hindi kayo ang biktima dito. Ang biktima dito ay si Crispin at ang kanyang anak. Ang biktima dito ay ang mga ordinaryong Pilipinong inaabuso ng mga katulad ni Carlo Subong,” he added.

Ridon stressed that Carlo consciously committed acts involving grave threats, physical assault, and child abuse against a father and his minor daughter. He explained that the photos circulating online showed only Carlo Subong, the individual involved in the incident, and not the entire family. Ridon stressed that the public has the right to know the identity of individuals who harm ordinary citizens, and that claims of privacy violations were misleading since the LTO Show Cause Order and related documents are public records.

The lawmaker also reminded the public that Congress has oversight authority over transportation and public safety matters, including road rage incidents, and that the location of the incident does not affect this responsibility. He noted that factual statements based on publicly available information cannot be considered cyberlibel or cyberbullying. Ridon firmly stated that apologies and accountability should come from Carlo Subong, as he was the one who committed the offenses.

Ridon assured the public that he will continue to monitor the case and coordinate with the Department of Justice to ensure that Carlo faces the appropriate legal consequences. He emphasized that the issue involves public safety and accountability and cannot be treated as a private dispute between families.
