Ride-Hailing Rider in Puerto Princesa Allegedly Punched by Man at Pickup Area

A ride-hailing rider was reportedly punched by a man while he was waiting for his passenger in Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa. 

Recently, the Facebook page Radyo Bandera Philippines shared photos showing the driver, who was allegedly attacked by a man as he waited for his passenger at the pick-up area in Brgy. San Manuel. The incident happened yesterday, December 3, 2025, at around 4:26 p.m. 

The rider, identified as Sherwin, is a working student who juggles school and work to support himself. He was simply calling his passenger at the designated pick-up spot when the attack happened.

According to Sherwin, the man approached him without any clear reason. The stranger grabbed the camera attached to Sherwin’s helmet, then punched him in the side. The man also kicked his motorcycle, damaging it and leaving Sherwin shaken and confused. 

Sherwin ran to protect himself. The attacker tried to chase him, but another man who appeared to be with the suspect stopped him. Once Sherwin managed to distance himself, the attacker took the camera from his helmet and fled. 

The ride-hailing rider has already reported the incident to authorities, hoping it will be properly investigated. He shared how heavy the situation feels, especially because he lives a quiet and hardworking life.

As a working student, he focuses on his studies and driving to earn an honest income. He mentioned that he has no enemies and never had issues with anyone, which makes the sudden aggression even more painful for him to understand. 

Many expressed concerns not only for Sherwin’s safety but also for other drivers who may face similar dangers while simply trying to make a living.
