Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Issues Statement over Marcos Jr.’s “Priority List of ‘Reform’ Measures”
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman slammed the push of the Marcos Jr. administration for the anti-dynasty bill and the other priority measures.
Countless Filipinos were left disappointed and calling for accountability over the supposed multi-billion flood control mess in the Philippines. Several congressmen as well as some senators were tagged in the issue that brought thousands of Filipinos in the streets to protest against corruption in the government.

Last September 21 and November 30, thousands of Filipinos joined the “Trillion Peso March” to protest against corruption. Some celebrities in the showbiz industry and government officials who push against corruption joined the protest as well.

Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the creation of an independent probe team that will investigate the flood control projects of the government. The executive order led to the creation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI.
Some government officials tagged in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the country were invited by the ICI to attend the probe. Amid the call on the commission to investigate him, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte declined to appear before the ICI. According to him, the commission has no power and jurisdiction over him.

Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte stressed that the ICI was created under an executive order and cited the separation of powers. He also stated in his letter to ICI chairman Andres Reyes Jr. that the commission should allegedly investigate Marcos Jr., his family, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez instead.
Recently, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also reacted to the “Priority List of ‘Reform’ Measures of the Marcos Jr. administration. Here are the priority measures of the admin:
- Anti-Dynasty bill
- Independent People’s Commission Act bill
- Party-list System Reform Act bill
- Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability or CADENA Act bill
Through a statement posted on social media, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte claimed that he is amazed by the Marcos Jr. administration. According to him, whenever there is an issue in the country, it allegedly seems like the admin is ready to divert it — which is supposedly called ‘priority list’ now.
According to Duterte, all the previous administrations allegedly promised the Anti-Dynasty Bill. He stressed that the Marcos Jr. admin allegedly wants to impress the people but does not supposedly intend to end political dynasties.
“The Filipino people deserve genuine reforms, not political stunts,” he wrote.

In his post, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte said that if Malacañang is serious about reforms, they should first resolve the issues that need to be addressed first. He stressed that the country needs action and not distraction.
