Authorities Arrest Man Wanted for Extorting Young Vendor Arrested in Roxas
The police authorities arrest a man wanted for scamming a child shell vendor in Puerto Princesa in Roxas for theft.
Recently, the Facebook page 103.1 Brigada News FM – Palawan, reported that a man who allegedly scammed a child selling shells in Puerto Princesa City was arrested on December 8, 2025, in connection with a theft case, along with another man.
The suspect was caught in Roxas, Palawan after being linked to a theft incident, bringing relief to many who followed the earlier case involving the child.

According to reports, the arrest took place on December 8, 2025, after Roxas police received a complaint about a theft. Two men were accused of stealing a bag that contained around P15,000.
The suspects were identified as Jimwel Sampayan Rotulo and Albert Bautista Ibañez. Ibañez was earlier named in a separate incident involving a 12-year-old child who sells shells in Puerto Princesa City.
The child was allegedly tricked, resulting in the loss of P500, which was the child’s hard-earned income for the day.

Further investigation revealed another troubling detail. The motorcycle being used by the suspects during the theft was also found to be stolen. It reportedly belonged to a certain Jack Mendez, who had earlier asked for public help regarding his missing motorcycle just days before the arrest.
Police also shared that Ibañez was not new to such cases. Records show he was already wanted in 2023 for scamming and for harassing women, making him known to authorities for repeated offenses.
Both suspects are now detained at the Roxas Municipal Police Station as the legal process continues.
The arrest reminds the public that crimes, especially those involving innocent victims, do not go unnoticed. Many hope that this development may prevent similar incidents from happening again.
