A former casino employee said that Lakam’s claim of being Kim’s manager was just for appearances, and her VIP status was mainly due to the large sums she reportedly spent gambling.
This conflict follows earlier reports from February 2025. PEP.ph warned about a showbiz personality’s sibling being heavily involved in gambling, noting the risks without naming Kim. Blind items at the time suggested that Lakam spent over PHP 50 million at the casino, stressing the seriousness of the issue and the possible impact on the family’s finances. By August 2025, fans noticed that Kim and Lakam no longer followed each other on social media, indicating that their relationship was already strained.
The case is sensitive because it involves both money and family ties. While Lakam has remained silent, the situation emphasized the problems gambling can cause, the importance of family trust, and the responsibilities of those close to public figures.
