Former Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Speaks on Possible New Impeachment Case vs. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte
Harry Roque spoke on the possible filing of a fresh impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Recently, multiple complaints including plunder charges were filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte before the Office of the Ombudsman. It is over the alleged misuse of the P625 million confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
Aside from Duterte, charges were also filed against 15 officials of the OVP and the DepEd under her lead. The proponents who filed the complaints before the Ombudsman’s office include civil society leaders.

Ahead of the filing of multiple complaints that included plunder charges, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) chairperson Teddy Casiño confirmed that they are mulling about filing a fresh impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte after the ban is lifted in February 2026.
The Supreme Court previously declared the impeachment complaint against the Vice President as unconstitutional for not abiding by the one-year ban rule. Following the decision of the court, the Senate archived the impeachment complaint against the Vice President with a 19-4 ruling:

Recently, amid a possible impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Harry Roque, the former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, spoke on the matter. He has been loyal to the Dutertes amid the intense political turmoil in the Philippine government.
Through a post on social media, Harry Roque expressed that he is not expecting new grounds for the impeachment of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to him, it will allegedly be about the confidential funds still.
“Wala tayong inaasahan mga bagong basehan sa bagong impeachment laban kay VP Sara. Ayun pa rin gasgas na P125M na confidential fund ang magiging dahilan nila,” Roque wrote.
Harry Roque is in The Hague, Netherlands for several months now. There is an arrest warrant against him in the Philippines over his alleged ties with the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations. Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the possibility of a fresh impeachment complaint being filed against her.
