Currently, there are several issues in the Philippine government — with the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption being the biggest. Several government officials including senators and members of the House of Representatives were tagged in the alleged corruption through the government’s flood control projects.

Even Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez were tagged by Zaldy Co in the budget insertion issue. The corruption accusation against the Chief Executive was followed by the claim of his very own sister, Senator Imee Marcos, that he is allegedly into illegal drug use.

It is no secret to the public that there is an ongoing rift between Marcos Jr. and Duterte. The gap between the two (2) highest officials in the country became evident since she resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education and she also left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet.

According to the Vice President, she allegedly has no ill feelings against the President but she wants him to do his job. She also claimed that she is not calling for his resignation but for him to do his work as the country’s leader.

While Marcos Jr. is faced with accusations of alleged illegal drug use and flood control corruption, Duterte remains questioned by the alleged misuse of P625 million confidential funds of the offices she handled. She also previously earned massive criticisms over her frequent trips abroad.

Amid the holiday season, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte explained why she does not want to greet Pres. Bongbong Marcos on Christmas.
