Bong Revilla’s Wife Denies Speaking Against President Bongbong Marcos

Lani Mercado-Revilla Refutes Fake News About PBBM

LANI MERCADO-REVILLA – The Cavite 2nd District Representative denied claims that she made statements against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. regarding the potential arrest of her husband, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

In a social media post on Monday, December 8, Rep. Mercado-Revilla clarified that the circulating reports suggesting she said the president should be imprisoned instead of her husband are false. She emphasized that no such statement came from her and urged the public to be cautious about believing everything online, reminding followers not to spread fake news and to verify information before sharing it.

“Ito ay fake news. Walang statement na nilalabas ang inyong Ate Lani ukol dito. Huwag basta maniwala, hindi lahat ng nasa internet ay totoo. Don’t spread fake news. Maging mapanuri. Maraming salamat po!” she wrote.

The clarification comes amid ongoing legal issues involving Senator Bong Revilla. Previously, Ombudsman Samuel Martires indicated that Revilla could face a possible warrant of arrest along with several other lawmakers and politicians, including former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co, current Makati City Mayor and former senator Nancy Binay, Senator Joel Villanueva, and Senator Jinggoy Estrada.

Meanwhile, Bong Revilla has been linked to allegations involving the misuse of government funds for flood-control projects. According to testimony from a former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official, certain budget allocations for flood-control projects were allegedly diverted to benefit Revilla and other politicians, with amounts reportedly reaching hundreds of millions of pesos.

In response to these claims, Revilla has denied any involvement, calling the allegations false and asserting that his name has been used as a scapegoat. He and his legal team maintain that he was not given a proper opportunity to present his side before the investigating bodies. Despite the controversy, Revilla stated that he welcomes an official investigation and remains confident that the truth will eventually come out.
