Sandro Marcos Defends the First Family From Imee’s Allegations
SANDRO MARCOS – The House Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative has strongly denied Senator Imee Marcos’ claim that the First Family, including himself, is using illegal drugs. He said the accusations have no basis, are untrue, and will only harm the country. Sandro explained that it pains him to see his aunt making statements that he believes are meant to weaken the government for her own political goals.
The issue began when Senator Imee spoke at the Iglesia Ni Cristo rally at the Quirino Grandstand. During her speech, she said that the First Family, including Sandro, was involved in illegal drug use. She claimed that she and other family members supposedly discovered this and considered it a serious matter.
Sandro firmly rejected her accusations. He said his cousins—Borgy, Vice Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, and Atty. Michael—can confirm that the allegations against him are false. He shared that he and his cousins agreed long ago not to let their parents’ disagreements affect their own relationship.

Because of this, he said it is painful to see Senator Imee doing something that goes against their family’s unity. He added that her actions hurt him even more because he has always respected her for helping him begin his career in public service.

Sandro stated that what Senator Imee did is not the behavior of a true sibling. He urged the public to focus on the truth instead of stories intended to bring down the government. He stressed that this is a time for unity and cooperation, not for spreading conflict or causing division.

Malacañang also responded to the issue. Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro called Senator Imee’s statements a desperate act. She pointed out that the peace rally was supposed to focus on discussions about alleged corruption. She questioned why Senator Imee chose to attack her own brother at an event that had nothing to do with their family.
