Press Officer of Malacañang Claims VP Sara Duterte’s Recent Remarks “Unacceptable”
Malacañang slammed Vice President Sara Duterte for expressing her readiness to replace Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. if he resigns.
Amid the alleged corruption and illegal drug use allegations against the President, there are calls for Marcos Jr. to resign from his position — which is not an option for him according to the Palace. Atty. Claire Castro previously stressed that the President continues to work and Senator Imee Marcos is allegedly protecting a vice president who is faced with corruption issues after she recently accused her brother of allegedly using illegal drugs.

Malacañang also claimed that Sen. Imee Marcos’ illegal drug use accusations against PBBM is alleged for her so-called “Team ITIM”. The Palace claimed that the issue is allegedly long dead after Marcos Jr. tested negative in drug use prior to his presidential race in 2022.

Amid the calls for the President to resign, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked if she’s ready to replace Marcos Jr. as president if he resigns which she affirmed. According to the Vice President, she understands that she is the first in the line of succession if the president resigns and it is allegedly no longer a question of what she will do.
Vice Pres. Duterte also stressed that she presented herself as vice president in 2022 and it is her mandate to replace the President if he can no longer function. Her remarks earned different reactions from the people.
“Pinresenta ko sa inyo, tumakbo ako bilang vice president. Alam ko na first in line ako sa succession. Wala nang tanong dun kung ano ang gagawin ko. Yun ang mandate sa akin ng Constitution, at alam ko yun noong ako ay tumakbo at binoto niyo ako as Vice President knowing that I am the first in line,” the Vice President said.

Malacañang immediately reacted to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressing her claim that she is ready to replace Pres. Bongbong Marcos if he resigns. Based on a report on Philstar, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro slammed the Vice President saying that her remarks are allegedly “unacceptable”.
“Unang-una po, ang Bise Presidente, hindi acceptable, it is not acceptable for a vice president to anticipate the resignation of the president – Presidente na pinagsisigawan nilang bumaba sa puwesto,” the Palace official said.

Atty. Claire Castro further claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressing her readiness to be the president if Pres. Bongbong Marcos resigns is allegedly “a form of political destabilization”. Based on the report, the Malacañang press official claimed that her statement allegedly reduces the public confidence to the administration.
“This is definitely a form of political destabilization; pinapahina niya ang public confidence ng tao sa administrasyon. And those words contribute to the climate of uncertainty and crisis. Kung handa siya, makikita po natin, nag-anticipate siya na mawawala ang Pangulo—iyan po ang balak nila, iyan po ang nasa isip nila, at iyan po ang ginagawa nila ngayon,” Castro said.
According to the Palace official, the public should also be asked if they are ready for more “Mary Grace Piattos” — one of the names that appeared in the controversial receipts for the confidential funds of the offices led by the Vice President.
”Itanong din natin sa taumbayan: Handa na po ba kayo sa mas marami pang Mary Grace Piattos?” the Malacañang press official said.
Recently, amid the supposed massive corruption in the government, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about her advice to the Philippine government.
