Imee Marcos Drops Names of Well-Known Personalities in Drug Allegations, Including Maricel Soriano

Imee Marcos Points to Celebrities and Business Figures in Drug Claims

IMEE MARCOS – The senator made headlines after publicly naming several prominent personalities, including her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., in allegations of illegal drug use.

Her claims, made during the Iglesia Ni Cristo rally at Quirino Grandstand in Manila on November 17, 2025, extended beyond the First Family to include well-known figures in business and showbiz, such as Iñigo Zobel, Tonyboy Floirendo Jr., Anton Lagdameo, Bong Daza, Edvee Cruz, and actress Maricel Soriano.

According to Imee, the allegations date back to the 2016 campaign against illegal drugs under former President Rodrigo Duterte. She said her brother and other celebrities were allegedly on a list of drug users, but she personally intervened with Duterte to protect them. She also explained that her concern for Bongbong’s well-being led her to monitor his behavior closely and that she remained hopeful for his recovery despite reports of continued drug use.

Imee described alleged patterns of drug use, including attending parties and micro-dosing cocaine, which she claimed continued even after Bongbong became President in 2022. She said this behavior caused tension within the family, leading her to distance herself from Malacañang for three years. The senator also expressed concern that the drug use influenced the President’s decisions and the actions of those around him, resulting in poor governance and misuse of public funds.

Despite these allegations, Imee emphasized that her actions were guided by conscience as a sister, senator, and Filipino citizen. She urged her brother to step back from the presidency, focus on his health, and seek treatment for addiction, stressing that her primary concern was his safety and recovery rather than political advantage.

The accusations sparked controversy and public debate, with some questioning her motives given the known political differences between Imee and Bongbong.
