Family Hides in Ceiling of Their Home in Cebu City Due to Severe Flooding from Typhoon Tino
A family in Lusaran, Cebu, was forced to break through the ceiling of their house to escape the rushing floodwaters due to Typhoon Tino.
Recently, Facebook user CheLo Escoto Partulan shared a video showing the family’s desperate decision to make a hole in their ceiling just to survive brought by Typhoon Tino on November 4, 2025. The post quickly went viral and gained various reactions online.
In the video, one family member can be seen punching through the ceiling to create an opening leading to the roof. The floodwater inside their home was rising fast, leaving them with no other way out.
Once the hole was made, the adults quickly lifted the children to safety, helping them climb to the rooftop where they could wait for rescue. Despite the strong winds and heavy rain, the family worked together to ensure everyone could survive the dangerous situation.
According to the post, the water rose so quickly that the family never expected the situation to become that severe.
