Sen. Risa Hontiveros Declares P18.9 Million Net Worth in 2024
RISA HONTIVEROS – Amid the corruption issue in the Philippine government, the Senator released a copy of her 2024 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) showing her net worth at P18.9 million.
The supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the Philippines left countless Filipinos dismayed and calling for accountability. Several congressmen and senators are accused of involvement in the flood control corruption. Ombudsman Boying Remulla vowed that he will try to fast track the legal process over the flood control issue.
Ombudsman Boying Remulla also recently restored the public access to the SALNs of the government officials. The memorandum issued by his office reversed the circular implemented during the term of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires who retired in July.
Currently, there is no longer a need for a consent from the owner of the SALN. The requester just have to present a valid ID. The move of the office of the Ombudsman gained support from several government officials. The Ombudsman is the repository of the SALN of the president, the vice president, the Constitutional commissions’ officials, and the local government officials.
Some senators even bared their Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth. Sen. Risa Hontiveros is one of them. She recently disclosed her 2024 SALN.
Based on the SALN of Sen. Risa Hontiveros, her net worth as of 2024 is at P18.986 million. The assets, including real and personal properties, of the Senator were at P19.884 million. She owns two (2) house and lots and a house.
With regards to the liabilities of the Senator, she pays for a car loan amounting to P897,840. Based on the post, her cash deposit is at Php 3,658,198.21. She owns two (2) vehicles — a 2014 Toyota Innova and a 4×2 Toyota Fortuner. Based on the post, the former’s acquisition cost was at P1.4 million while the latter was at P1.9 million.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros was one of the senators who immediately expressed her support on the move of the Ombudsman to restore public access on the SALN of the government officials. Aside from Hontiveros, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson also disclosed his net worth which jumped by nearly P200 million in just 3 years.
