Marjorie Barretto Breaks Silence on Her Mother’s Accusations

Marjorie Barretto Responds to Inday Barretto’s Interview

MARJORIE BARRETTO – The former actress expressed her sadness and disappointment over her mother Inday Barretto’s recent comments about her in an interview with Ogie Diaz.

In the interview, the Barretto matriarch talked about the long-standing conflict among her daughters and described Marjorie as “strong-willed, sometimes too much.” She admitted that their relationship is “hot and cold” and said she often feels rejected by Marjorie. Inday also mentioned not being invited to Marjorie’s parties and wondered if her daughter was embarrassed by her.

Marjorie responded through an emotional Instagram post, saying she was deeply hurt and surprised by her mother’s statements. She said she thought they were on good terms because they had been together every day while their brother, Mito Barretto, was in the hospital and until his funeral. Marjorie questioned how her mother could claim they were not close when they had just been comforting each other during their brother’s passing.

She expressed confusion about why her mother would bring their private family matters to the public, especially while the family was still grieving. Marjorie also suggested that she was once again being made to look bad to make her youngest sister, Claudine Barretto, look good. She denied her mother’s claim that she does not invite her to family events, pointing out that many of her social media posts show her mother being part of their gatherings. Marjorie also revealed that her mother had often asked her not to post their photos together so Gretchen and Claudine wouldn’t get upset—something that caused her pain.

Marjorie further revealed that her mother once begged her not to mend her relationship with her two sisters “so she wouldn’t be left out.” She said she felt punished for being the child who always stayed strong and avoided causing problems. Calling the interview “false, unfair, and hurtful,” Marjorie said she could no longer stay silent.

She ended her message by saying she still loves her mother but has accepted the kind of love her mother can give. Marjorie said she will now focus on being the best mother to her children and will no longer stay silent after being misunderstood and hurt by someone close to her.
