Tricycle Driver Summoned by LTO Over Video of Child Driving Tricycle in Roxas City
LTO-6 has summoned a tricycle driver over viral video of a young child driving a moving tricycle in Roxas City.
Recently, the Facebook page Land Transportation Office Region 6 (LTO-6) takes action after watching viral video showing a young child driving a tricycle. The post elicits comments from the online community.
In the video, the tricycle’s registered owner, the child can be seen confidently holding the steering handle while the vehicle moves on the road.

Upon reviewing the video, LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) to the owner, directing her to explain why she should not face administrative and legal charges.
The agency cited possible violations of Presidential Decree No. 603, also known as the Child and Youth Welfare Code, and Republic Act 7610, the law protecting children against abuse and exploitation.
Authorities emphasized that allowing a child to drive any motor vehicle is a clear act of negligence and a serious safety concern. The LTO also summoned the adult seen sitting behind the child during the incident, giving both parties five days to submit their written explanation.
The tricycle owner later apologized in writing, admitting her mistake and explaining that the act was done “for fun” without realizing its dangers. She has since deleted the video from her account but acknowledged that it may have already been shared by others.
“I acknowledge that allowing a child to drive, even for a short period, was an act of negligence on my part… It was done out of fun and without considering the possible risks and legal implications. I deeply regret this lapse in judgment and understand the seriousness of the situation,” the owner said.
LTO-6 reaffirmed its strong commitment to enforcing road safety and accountability
