Lady Netizen Expresses Frustration Over Cousin’s Constant Borrowing

Lady Netizen Throws Shade At Cousin Who Keeps Borrowing Money

A lady netizen expressed her frustration toward her cousin who constantly borrows money from her, reasoning that it was because they once let her stay in their home.

Recently, Reddit user LucciKhun shared her disappointment after her cousin criticized her for refusing to lend more money. Her post quickly went viral and drew various reactions from the online community.

According to the uploader, she stayed with her cousin’s family during high school because their home was near her school. However, she recalled being treated almost like a helper during that time.

Lucci was often woken up to receive deliveries, asked to turn off lights upstairs even if she was downstairs, and sometimes left with little or no food because they would get their share first. Despite this, she remained quiet, believing she owed them gratitude for letting her stay.

When she moved back to her mother’s home for college, the dynamic changed. Now that she is working, her cousin’s family frequently calls her for financial help whenever she receives her salary.

While she continued to give as much as she could out of gratitude, she admitted it had become too much. She could no longer buy essentials for herself, give allowance to her nieces and nephews, or even treat her own mother because most of her income went to them.

Recently, she decided to say no to another loan request after giving a large amount the previous month. She said she wanted to save a little for herself and her family. Her refusal led to accusations from her cousin, who claimed she had forgotten her “utang na loob” or debt of gratitude.
