Imee Marcos Leaves All Senators’ Group Chat: ‘Ang gusto ko ay magtrabaho, tigilan niyo ang pagmamagaling at pang-aaway’

Sen. Imee Marcos Explains Decision To Leave All Senators’ Group Chat

IMEE MARCOS – The presidential sister and Senator left the group chat of all the senators of the 20th Congress.

The Senate had a shakeup amid the flood control mess in the Philippines. Sen. Chiz Escudero was ousted from the Senate presidency and replaced by then-Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto. Escudero’s ouster came after he admitted that he received a P30-million campaign donation from one of the contractors mentioned by Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

The contractor who donated P30-million for the campaign of Sen. Chiz Escudero claimed that the money came from his own pocket and not the construction firm’s fund. Aside from the said allegation, a former undersecretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways, Roberto Bernardo, also claimed that Escudero allegedly received a P160-million kickback from flood control projects.

Dismissed DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez also accused senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects. Both senators denied the allegations.
