Truth Behind Bong Revilla Using a Walker
BONG REVILLA – The former senator recently became the talk of social media after photos of him using a walker resurfaced and spread online.
Many netizens made their own guesses about the photos, especially since his name was mentioned in connection with supposed issues in some flood control projects. However, the truth behind the viral post is quite different from what most people initially thought.
The screenshots were taken from an old video of Revilla, which was recorded during the PFP-Lakas alliance signing ceremony at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City. That event was his first public appearance after being hospitalized last year because of an Achilles tendon injury. During that time, he was still recovering and needed a walker to help him move and keep his balance.
Even so, social media users quickly linked the old photos to the new controversy involving several public officials. Many comments claimed that he was using the walker because of stress or health problems caused by the current issue. But people close to the former senator clarified that the photos had nothing to do with the allegations and were taken months before the controversy started.
The Achilles tendon injury had limited Revilla’s movement for a while, but he has since recovered and returned to his normal activities. The viral post, although shared many times online, was simply a misunderstanding caused by timing and false assumptions.
Meanwhile, according to his lawyers from Divina Law, the former senator has completely denied all accusations connecting him to the alleged flood control problem. Revilla said the claims are not true and assured that he is willing to cooperate with any investigation or legal process to prove his innocence. He also said it has never been his habit to avoid or hide from any issue.
