Aspin Rescued in Batangas, Now Enjoy Healthy Life Abroad
An aspin rescued in Batangas named Scooby finds a new life and now enjoys a healthy and happy life in the United States.
A fur mom, Geneil Moreno spotted Scooby wandering around a beach resort in Batangas. He was thin, tired, and walked slowly as if begging for food and kindness. Every day, he would follow Moreno and her husband, patiently waiting for a meal. At night, he would sleep outside their hut on an old rag, which seemed to be his only comfort.
Moreno decided to help the dog after feeling touched by his condition. They brought Scooby to the vet and learned that he was suffering from mange and a blood parasite. His health was so poor that his blood platelets dropped to a dangerous level.
Despite the challenges, Scooby pushed through with treatment. Slowly, his wounds healed, and his fur started to grow back.
After months of medication and proper care, his transformation became visible. His eyes sparkled with energy, his coat looked smooth again, and his bark sounded joyful. Eventually, Moreno completed all documents and vaccines needed to take Scooby to the United States.
“He made it! It is a bit expensive but I know that this is God’s plan and no money can ever replace his life. My precious little baby Scooby. He’s a good boy! Very loyal dog!,” Moreno said.
After processing papers, securing a crate, and getting a flight, Scooby officially joined his fur parents abroad.
Scooby enjoys beach trips, strolls in California, and the company of other dogs. Many people even ask about his breed, surprised to learn he is an aspin. Moreno proudly shares his story, proving that Filipino dogs can shine anywhere when treated with love.
“Madaming nag tatanong mga american po ano daw lahi siya, mga mayayaman pa gusto ata nila bilhin si Scooby but i proudly tell them that he is an aspin! A filipino dog,” Moreno added.
