Arron Villaflor Apologizes for “Pray for Cebu” Post

Arron Villaflor Says Sorry After Being Mocked for “Pray for Cebu” Post

ARRON VILLAFLOR – The actor and Tarlac Board Member has apologized after getting criticized for his social media post showing sympathy for the victims of the recent earthquake in Cebu.

Villaflor posted an art card on his official page with the message “Pray for Cebu and those affected by the earthquake,” along with a photo of himself with hands together as if praying. While his goal was to show care and support for those affected, many netizens focused more on his photo than his message. Some thought it looked too posed, while others compared him to Santino and Honesto—popular TV characters known for their prayerful looks. Because of this, his post quickly became a topic of jokes and memes online.

After receiving the negative comments, Villaflor deleted the post and publicly said sorry. He explained that it was a mistake by his social media team, who made and uploaded the post without realizing how people might react. The actor-politician said he already told his team to remove it and promised to be more careful with what he shares online.

In his apology, Villaflor admitted that the issue taught him an important lesson about being more thoughtful when posting, especially during times of tragedy. He also tried to take the incident lightly, saying he was surprised that people still noticed him that much, joking that he “didn’t expect to still be that popular.”

Despite the teasing, some netizens defended Villaflor, saying his message came from good intentions. They pointed out that he only wanted to ask for prayers and show concern for the victims, not to promote himself.

Villaflor, who became known for his roles in Heneral Luna, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, Juan dela Cruz, and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, started his political career in 2025 as a Board Member of Tarlac’s 2nd District under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
