Arjo Atayde: “Walang multo sa aking distrito!”
ARJO ATAYDE – The Quezon City First District Representative has strongly denied allegations of so-called “ghost projects” in his district.
The actor-turned-lawmaker clarified that all infrastructure projects under his office—particularly flood control and drainage systems—are legitimate and supported by official documents from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). To prove their authenticity, he personally inspected several project sites in various barangays, emphasizing the importance of transparency and coordination to prevent misinformation and false accusations.
The controversy began when contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused Arjo Atayde of receiving kickbacks from flood control projects in his district. However, the congressman firmly denied these claims, asserting that he has never met or spoken to the couple, despite circulating photos suggesting otherwise. In a statement, Atayde declared, “Walang multo sa aking distrito!” expressing confidence that the truth would prevail.

According to a report from Abante News, Atayde personally visited the flood control and drainage projects located in Barangays Bahay Toro, Del Monte, Project 6, and San Antonio. During the inspection, he showcased both ongoing and completed projects, saying, “To see is to believe,” to demonstrate transparency and accountability in public service.
The DPWH Quezon City First District Engineering Office also confirmed that all seven projects in the district are properly documented and verified. Five have been fully completed, while two have been temporarily suspended due to administrative issues—including the Mariblo Creek project, which is currently on hold. The DPWH provided photographic evidence and detailed reports for each project, including four flood control systems in Culiat and Dario Creek in Barangay Bahay Toro, drainage rehabilitation along Road 3 in Project 6, a pumping station in West Riverside, Barangay Del Monte, and a flood control project along the San Francisco River in Barangay San Antonio.

Atayde reiterated that the accusations against him are baseless and politically motivated. He stressed that his site visits and documentation efforts were part of his commitment to ensuring that government funds are used properly. Amid a growing wave of similar allegations involving other lawmakers, Atayde stood firm in defending his integrity and vowed to continue serving his constituents with honesty. “Walang multo sa aking distrito,” he repeated, reaffirming his stand against corruption and misinformation.
