Building Under Construction Collapses in BGC, Leaving One Dead and Three Others Injured
One dead and three injured after a building under construction collapsed in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.
On Monday (October 20, 2025), Jedrian Bendecio, a Facebook user, shared photos of a tragic accident that struck a construction site in Bonifacio Global City, after part of a building under construction collapsed. The post elicited comments online.
According to initial reports, several construction workers were busy with their tasks when a large concrete post suddenly gave way, causing heavy steel materials to fall and trap some of them underneath.
Rescue workers and fellow laborers rushed to pull out the victims from the debris. One of the injured workers had to be lifted by a crane so he could receive immediate medical attention.
Emergency responders quickly brought the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment, while authorities are still working to identify the fatality. The three others sustained varying degrees of injuries but were reported to be in stable condition.
Police investigators from Taguig City have already begun a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident. They are checking whether lapses in safety protocols, poor construction materials, or equipment failure may have led to the tragic incident.
Witnesses nearby described the moment as chaotic and frightening, as the loud crash echoed through the busy business district, alarming nearby workers and pedestrians.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is also expected to look into the site’s compliance with workplace safety standards.
