Sarah Geronimo Speaks Out on Corruption
SARAH GERONIMO – The Popstar Royalty has surprised the public by speaking out on a national issue—something she rarely does. Known for keeping her distance from political debates, the award-winning singer and actress made a bold remark about corruption during a recent endorsement event with Dr. Vicki Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho.
In a video posted by Dr. Belo on social media, Hayden was explaining the role of ceramide in skincare, noting how it seals the skin to prevent water from escaping. Before he could finish, Sarah interjected with a sharp observation: “Pero yung kalsada doon Doc hindi naa-absorb yung tubig.” The crowd erupted in laughter, with even Hayden and Vicki joining in. She then added, “Kasi tinipid.”
Although she did not specify which roads she was referring to, her statement quickly drew attention online. Many linked her words to ongoing controversies over poorly built infrastructure and alleged corruption in flood control projects.

The reaction from netizens was overwhelmingly positive. Supporters praised Sarah for being brave enough to share her thoughts on a pressing issue, especially since she has long been seen as cautious and private when it comes to politics. Her offhand but striking remark resonated deeply, as it reflected frustrations many Filipinos feel toward government projects that fall short of expectations.
Her remark mirrors that of her husband, actor Matteo Guidicelli, who earlier criticized corruption in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). He urged citizens to expose wrongdoing, writing: “Post, repost, like, share. Expose it all. Good morning!” He later followed with, “Real change begins with transparency, accountability, and integrity.”

Together, the couple’s statements echo a broader call for honesty and responsibility in governance. While Sarah’s comment was delivered in a lighthearted moment, it underscored a serious problem that affects millions of Filipinos. From substandard roads to flood control issues, her words captured a truth that struck a chord with the public—turning a casual exchange into a meaningful stand against corruption.
