Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims PH Embassy Allegedly Entered ICC To Check on Dad Rodrigo
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President warned that the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Philippine government must be prepared to answer over the alleged “fake welfare checks” to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Former Pres. Duterte remains detained under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands since March. Based on the latest postings of the ICC, Duterte is faced with three (3) counts of murder as “crimes against humanity”. The confirmation of charges hearing that was supposedly set on September 23 was postponed.

The ICC ruling to postpone the confirmation of charges hearing of the former President came after his lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman, claimed that his client is allegedly “not fit to stand trial”. According to Kaufman, the former President is supposedly suffering from a ‘cognitive impairment’.

The British-Israeli Lawyer claimed that the former President is allegedly unable to remember places and events and even close members of his family. According to him, the cognitive status of his client will either remain static or deteriorate further even with a medical intervention. He asked the ICC to adjourn all legal proceedings indefinitely.
The Duterte family members previously claimed that the ICC allegedly barred them from revealing information about their visits to the former President. Meanwhile, according to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, they already found a “third country” that is willing to host her father’s interim release if the court grants it.

It was in August when the camp of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte renewed his application for an interim release. Nicholas Kaufman previously expressed his hope that the Marcos Jr. administration will allow his return to the Philippines for his interim release but it did not elicit a positive response from the government.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the officials of the Philippine Embassy in The Hague allegedly entered the ICC detention facility for an alleged fake “welfare check”. In a statement posted on social media, the Vice President also claimed that the information from the said visit was allegedly submitted to Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, the officials of the Philippine Embassy allegedly interviewed former Pres. Duterte. She claimed that those officials supposedly went beyond the “rule of the detention unit concerning consular visits”. She stressed that there has always been one or two family members who visit the former President almost every day since March.
“The permission given by the ICC in allowing the agents of the very government that abducted FPRRD to intrude upon him, without seeking permission from family members who are in the Hague, places his life and safety in imminent danger,” the Vice President wrote.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the ICC and the Philippine government must be prepared to answer in case something happens to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte due to the said alleged fake “welfare check”. She stressed their family’s strong objection to the said visits which are allegedly orders of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Here’s her statement:
